At the Corvette factory in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Chevy builds the Z06: a 505-horsepower street car engineered to push nearly 200 mph. But turning race-derived technology into a production Corvette demands more than raw power. Every pound, weld, rivet, and torque setting has to work on a moving assembly line.
From the lightweight aluminum space frame to the hand-built LS7 V8, the build exposes the mechanical logic behind the car’s speed. Robotic welding, carbon-fiber panels, a rear-mounted transmission, dry-sump oiling, heavy-duty brakes, and final testing reveal how engineers make the Z06 light, balanced, and ready for the road.
