【ストーリー / Story】 貴族社会が衰退し、代わって武家社会が台頭してきた平安末期。 西海の海賊討伐や朝廷と比叡山延暦寺との紛争を解決するなど、 武士台頭の象徴となった平忠盛は、公卿たちには好まれない。 その長男清盛は、忠盛に肩入れをして干されてしまった 藤原時信を訪ね、そこで時信の娘時子と出逢い強く心惹かれる。 そんな折、清盛は自分の本当の父親は白河上皇であると耳にし、 忠盛に対し複雑な思いを抱く。そんな清盛と忠盛であったが、 平家の台頭を忌み嫌う公卿や山門たちの影が忍び寄っていた・・・。 The late Heian period saw the decline of aristocratic society and the rise of a warrior society in its place.
