Our Fertility Journey: All things IUI… bts, lessons & regrets

As a same sex couple, we always knew that we would need to utilize fertility treatments, but we didn’t really anticipate facing significant fertility struggles beyond simply accessing the basic assisted reproductive technology, since we had no “proven infertility”. We originally went into our fertility journey hoping that we could choose the least invasive and least medicated approaches to treatment, and this is what it looked like for us. Unfortunately, knowing what we know now after recurrent implantation failure and pregnancy loss, IUI would never have worked for us in this way. But it’s still part of our journey. We hope our IUI experience helps validate others who have been through it, or inform those who may be just starting their IUI journey ❤️
