I Ranked Every FPGA Gaming System I Own – Worst to Best

I’ve built up quite a collection of FPGA gaming hardware, but which system is actually my favourite? In this video, I’m ranking every FPGA gaming system I currently own from worst to best. I’ll go through the pros and cons of each system, what I enjoy about using it, where I think it falls short and, most importantly, why it ended up in its final position. The systems featured are the SuperStation One, Analogue Duo, Analogue 3D, Analogue Super Nt, Mega Sg, Analogue Pocket, ModRetro Chromatic and ModRetro M64. There are some very different approaches to FPGA gaming here. Some systems focus on original cartridges, others offer much wider flexibility, while handhelds such as the Analogue Pocket and ModRetro Chromatic bring their own advantages. I’m looking at these systems from the perspective of actually owning and using them rather than simply comparing specifications. Build quality, ease of use, game support, features, accuracy and the overall experience all play a part in my final ranking. And, as always, this is completely based on my own experience and preferences. Your ranking could look very different!
