HOW TO MAKE A CHANNEL TUFTED HEADBOARD PART 1 l SOUTH AFRICAN YOUTUBER

A very warm welcome back to my channel. I'm sporting a new name and couldn't be happier( DIY Home Projects South Africa). I've just discovered that I really enjoy DIY-ing anything and everything. So get ready for more weekly videos. I've got a few projects lined up for you!!! From the easiest DIYs to the most popular and some challenging ones. That's all I'll be doing. I'll take you step by step on how I'll achieve most of my work. For this DIY I decided to split it into 2 parts. The first being the actual DIY and the second being the final reveal. I've given you a sneak peak of it on the thumbnail😊 I'd love to especially thank my beautiful 4 year old daughter, Sedi, for helping me film some parts of the video. I lost my tripod stand in transit so I had to improvise to make sure I get all the necessary steps recorded. My loving and supportive cousin, Nthabi, for accompanying me to shop for all my supplies. I'd also love to thank my very handy grandad for drilling the pilot holes for me. I don't currently have any power tools for now, so I'll be using what I can. Not forgetting my generous neighbor for giving me the wooden panels really appreciate everyone who contributed in any way for me to complete this beautiful project. Okay now back to the video💃 You'll need : PVC ceiling boards (I'd advise using ply wood if you can) Foam(sponge) [purchased mine at Factory Shop, 84 Struben St Pretoria Central 0001 description (HDF50 Foam High Definition Sheet 50mm) for R370.00] Your fabric of choice, I used the green velvet and bought 3.5M for R280.00 also from the Factory shop. I ended up using about 80% of the fabric because I needed to make sure I match the grains of the fabric on each panel. I also bought some Decron, which is the 'batting' from the same shop at R40.00 for 4M. I finally got some black Calico at R21.00 for 6M. I didn't use it yet. Only planning on using it in my next headboard DIY. Super glue or any strong adhesive [purchased mine from a local tuckshop,used x5 and it cost R25.00] You could alternatively use a foam adhesive spray which they have at the upholstery shop for under R100.00. Staple gun with staples (purchased mine at Checker's the gun is not heavy duty so it was quite reasonably priced, got it on sale for R219.99 and the staples for R60 for a pack of 1000) Wooden panels (got mine from old pallets, my neighbor had lying around) A drill and screws (used my granddads' and the screws were coarse drywall screws 4.2x25mm #8 by Eureka. left overs from an old projects so I can't remember the cost, any wood screws will do really) Scissors to cut the material Pen or Marker to mark the foam, material and batting Knife or foam cutter Measuring tape Some of these materials were used off camera. *side note, I ended up cutting the ceiling boards in half after adhering them to the foam. The panels were going to be very wide had I not done that. Disclaimer : This video is only intended for home entertainment.
