Learn Norwegian with 18 short, everyday conversations at work you can follow from your first weeks of study.
«God morgen! Hvordan går det?» «Bare bra, takk. Og med deg?»
«Ingrid, kan jeg få fri på fredag?» «Det går fint.»
«Det er fredag i dag! Har vi kake?»
A week at a small Oslo office: five colleagues, eighteen situations. Asking for time off, calling in sick, a short meeting, the printer breaking, Friday cake. Each one is its own chapter, so you can jump straight to the one you need.
A1-A2 · bokmål · slow speech · Norwegian and English subtitles
Each conversation is shown once, with Norwegian and English side by side. No two people wear the same colour, so you can always tell who is speaking.

KULTURNOTAT
Flat på jobben: Norwegian workplaces are informal. You call the boss by first name and say "du", never a formal "De".
Kaffepausen, the coffee break, is a real institution. It is where colleagues actually talk, not time off task.
Matpakke: many people bring open sandwiches wrapped in paper instead of buying lunch.
Egenmelding lets you report yourself sick without a doctor's note, normally up to 3 days at a time and 4 times a year, after about two months on the job.
Fredagskake, cake on a Friday, is a genuine ritual in a lot of Norwegian offices.
New story every week.
