Reddit Asked and MythBusters Delivered 3 Internet Myths | Mythbusters

MythBusters — S14 E8 “The Reddit Special” — Aired February 27, 2016 Reddit handed Adam and Jamie three of the internet’s most persistently requested myths for their penultimate episode, starting with the viral video claiming to show a fart registering on an infrared thermal camera, with Adam building what he called a fancy fart machine — a warm air chamber fed through a whoopee cushion at human body temperature — to give Jamie the clearest possible shot at detecting airborne flatulence on the thermal display, then dropping Buster from a helicopter inside an inflatable zorb ball to find out whether the cushioning and rotation of the ball could reduce impact forces enough to keep a person alive, and then putting Adam inside a giant paper bag to test once and for all whether the classic idiom about not being able to punch your way out of one reflects genuine difficulty or complete nonsense, before closing the whole episode by detonating a giant glitter-filled Reddit mascot Snoo because the community asked for that too.
