Kingdom Ethics | What Does Jesus Teach Us About Prayer? | September 27, 2026

In this message from our journey through the Sermon on the Mount, we explore Jesus’ teaching on prayer in Matthew 6:5–17. Prayer isn’t about having the perfect words, impressing other people, or simply repeating familiar phrases. Jesus invites us into an honest conversation with our Father that changes the way we live. As we look at the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9–13, we’ll explore three important themes: who God is, what God desires, and how we can bring our daily needs to Him. Jesus teaches us to seek God’s kingdom and will, trust Him for provision, receive forgiveness, forgive others, and ask for help and protection as we face temptation and trials. If prayer has ever felt difficult, routine, or disconnected from everyday life, this message will encourage you to see prayer in a fresh way and discover how talking with God can shape every part of your life.
