What is Living With Aloha? (Hawaii Q&A Series)

It's been a busy start to the new year in Hawaii. Still, I wanted to continue my Hawaii Q&A Series by answering three questions about life in Hawaii. The first question is about why someone who was born and raised in Hawaii would move to the mainland. I moved to the mainland for college, but also stayed there for work. Eventually I moved back to Hawaii, but I thought I'd share my perspective on moving away. The second question is about what it means to live with aloha. Being from Hawaii, we learn aloha at home, in school, and in the community. But what does it truly mean to live with aloha? I share my thoughts about that. The third question is about the term "mainland" and whether we should use another term. I personally think it's okay, but others may disagree. It's common to use in Hawaii, though.
