HIGHLIGHTS: Tribe hits maiden century as Surrey grind on Day 2

Asa Tribe scored an epic maiden Division One hundred as Glamorgan stunned Surrey by reaching 339 for five in their second innings - an overall lead of 356 - on day two at the Kia Oval. Tribe, the 22-year old England Lions batsman who was born and raised in Jersey, reached 142 not out as he, Kiran Carlson and Ben Kelleway piled on the agony for Surrey on a pitch on which an extraordinary 20 wickets had fallen 24 hours earlier. Both Glamorgan and Surrey, bowled out for 132 and 115 respectively on the opening day, are still not safe from the threat of relegation – Glamorgan more so than Surrey – giving a real edge to a fascinating Rothesay County Championship contest that took an utterly unpredictable twist after the Welsh county had resumed only 47 ahead on 30 without loss. For Tribe it was a fifth first-class century and for Glamorgan captain Carlson, who had scored only 17 runs from his previous seven championship innings – with four ducks – it was a welcome and timely return to form with 57 from 114 balls.
