Exeter Trial 2025-SIMMS Hill

Simms hill is notorious for stopping bikes and cars in almost any conditions. This is my first time and although I knew momentum was needed I just didn't build enough up. When I catch up with Hugo at the top of the hill we discuss the next route section and take a wrong turn. Completely oblivious of the handy 'R' marker thoughtfully provided by the organisers. This resulted in a detour that cost us a few miles but luckily we got back on track before anyone noticed and without further penalty. Why did I fail? As mentioned momentum lacking, I also blame my own lack of skill and practice and physical training. I spent loads of time making sure the bike was up to the job but neglected my own condition. Qualified as last finisher in class C.
