Xu Ruohan: The Artist Who Became an Actress

Xu Ruohan studied animation, not acting, and she still draws inside the stories she acts. This video follows how an art student ended up leading romance dramas, from her first film to The Lament of Autumn. We start with the cartoons her character sketches in The Lament of Autumn, then go back to how she chose animation, the audition she took without knowing who was casting, and her roles in The Forbidden Flower, Go Back Lover and The Best Thing. We also look at her time in the acting class show Memories Beyond Horizon, where the mentors praised her natural acting and still gave her notes.
