The 49th Chinese PLA Navy Escort Task Group, consisting of guided-missile destroyer PLANS Kunming (172), guided-missile frigate PLANS Yueyang (575) and ocean-going comprehensive replenishment ship PLANS Luoma Lake (907), departed on the morning of August 12 for the Gulf of Aden and waters off Somalia to carry out escort missions.
