Whatever Works - 1966 Stella (Harmony) H929 - $10 Bridge Upgrade / Better Intonation

I'm a big fan of old Harmony and Stella guitars. In terms of unique tones, they have so much to offer. In terms of intonation, action and overall playability...mostly on non-adjustable truss rod models...more than a few adjustments might need to be made for them to be desirable players. Unless - like many - one wants to just use them for playing slide. As much as I like playing slide from time to time, I prefer to set my guitars up for fretting. The easier the fretting, the better. And this video was made to document what I did to make this Stella easier to fret...and play in tune. (For an audio sample, skip to the 5:25 mark.) With around a $10 investment and very little work, you might be able to make your H929 easier to fret/play in tune too. Though if you prefer keeping it set up for slide...so be it. One last thing worth mentioning (that wasn't addressed in this video)...I also cut the nut slots a bit deeper.
