This drive takes you through a hidden bucolic landscape in the heart of Romanian Maramures, the northest part of Romania. From Desesti's Saint Parascheva Church (1770), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, through the peaceful 14th centrury village of Breb, Ocna Șugatag, Călinești, Văleni and finally to Bârsana Monastery comlex a UNESCO world heritage site too. The area of Maramureș represents one of the largest depressions in the Carpathians, covering an area of about 10,000 km2.
