Most coaches and players in both rugby union and rugby league think of ball skills as passing and catching or 2v1s and 3v2s — but that's only part of the picture.
In this polemical video, Tackle U's Coach Liam explains how he views ball skills in his day to day coaching in rugby league and rugby union, and why thinking about them more broadly can transform how you coach and/or prepare to play the game. Coach Liam argues that a lot of ball work in training and practice doesn't adequately prepare players for how most of them are going to be interacting with the ball in a game.
