In today’s video, I’m sharing how I acclimate rare Alocasia after receiving them from sellers, especially plants coming from high-humidity environments. I’ll walk you through my temporary growing setup, how I help these plants stabilize, and why I prefer giving them time to adjust before transitioning them into their long-term substrate. We’re working with three Alocasia today, including my Pink Nebula. During the process, I noticed something that raised questions about its propagation history. This led to a much bigger conversation about seller transparency, tissue culture versus vegetative propagation, and the importance of knowing what we’re purchasing. I’m also sharing my personal experience, what I’ve learned, and why accurate descriptions and propagation records matter to me as both a collector and a grower. A note about this video: The experiences, observations, and opinions shared in this video are my own. I have not confirmed the exact propagation method of my Pink Nebula, and I am not claiming that the plant was definitively produced through tissue culture. My concerns center around the uncertainty surrounding its propagation history and the importance of clear, accurate information when purchasing plants. This video is intended to share my experience and encourage thoughtful discussion about transparency within the Alocasia market. It is not intended to target, shame, or encourage harassment toward any individual or business. Please keep the conversation respectful, even when opinions differ. 📖 Chapters 00:00 Acclimation talk & 3 Alocasia to transition 13:13 Repotting & Setup 31:35 My experience & Seller transparency Mentions 🛒 Self-watering pots: https://www.amazon.com/shop/plantsbym...
