I Added COOLING to My Vaillant Heat Pump… What Happened?

Can a Vaillant aroTHERM plus heat pump actually cool your house? 🥶 We’re in the middle of a heatwave, so I decided this was the perfect time to test the cooling function on my own Vaillant heat pump at home. In this video, I take you through the whole process from start to finish. I fit the cooling chip to my Vaillant aroTHERM plus, show you where it goes, then go through the settings needed to enable cooling. But… it doesn’t work first time! 😬 I end up having to do a factory reset and some fault finding before finally getting the cooling system working. Once it’s running, I use my underfloor heating as the cooling emitter and even experiment with fans blowing across the floor to help move the cooled air around the house. I then compare the temperatures in the house with the temperatures we’ve experienced during the recent heatwave to see just how effective the Vaillant cooling actually is. So is cooling on a Vaillant aroTHERM plus genuinely useful, or is it just a gimmick? Watch until the end to see the result.
