Հայի աչքեր (Hayi Acher / Armenian Eyes ) - A Soulful Prayer | R. Amirkhanyan

🎹 Ray Charles — Hayi Acher (Armenian Eyes: A Soulful Prayer) A Deep Soul Tribute to Robert Amirkhanyan What happens when the ancient melancholy of the Armenian highlands meets the raw, unyielding spirit of American Soul? This concept imagines a world where the "High Priest of Soul," Ray Charles, interprets the legendary masterpiece by Armenian composer Robert Amirkhanyan — "Hayi Acher" (Armenian Eyes). This is more than a cover; it is a spiritual bridge stretching from the Mississippi Delta to the shadows of Mount Ararat. Ray’s gravelly, blues-drenched vocals breathe a weary resilience into Amirkhanyan’s tender melody. The result is a "Soulful Prayer" where the haunting cry of the Duduk weaves through the rich, swirling textures of a Hammond B3 organ and a traditional gospel choir.
