MOONÉRA — MY VOICE, YOUR PRICE | Dark Vocal Deep House

“I know that breath. That’s me.” MY VOICE, YOUR PRICE is a dark vocal deep house single by MOONÉRA, inspired by a real story from our own release. Alex spent nights writing the lyrics. We recorded the vocals, mixed the track, and shared it on social media before its official release through our distributor. Later, we stumbled across a listing in one of the same online music stores where we release our own tracks. Different title. Different artist name. We pressed play and recognized what sounded like a cut from our own recording. We reported the listing to the store for review. Then we went back to the studio and turned that moment into a song: smoky female vocals, a rolling bassline, and the breath before the first word that made us stop and listen. If someone takes another artist’s recording and sells it as their own, what consequences should they face? And should the music store be held accountable if it puts a track on sale without checking whether the person who submitted it had the right to sell it?
