We visited the Neuschwanstein Castle. It was opened to the public in 1886, seven weeks after the death of King Ludwig II . The shy king had built the castle to withdraw from the public eye - now his refuge has become a crowd puller. Neuschwanstein is one of the most visited palaces and castles in Europe today.
