The Devil isn’t after your stuff or your health. This is what he’s really after...

What comes out of your mouth when nothing is going right? In the book of Job, Satan argued that Job only served God because God had blessed and protected him. Take away the blessing, Satan said, and Job would curse God. But when Job lost his possessions, his servants and even his children, he fell to the ground and worshiped. In The Devil’s After Your Praise, Pastor Jason Sharp teaches from Job 1–2 that the enemy’s ultimate goal is not simply to attack what we possess. He wants adversity, disappointment and pressure to change what we say about God. The battle isn’t just over your stuff. It’s for your mouth. Will we only praise God when life is going well? Or will we continue to declare His goodness when we are hurting, confused or waiting for an answer? Job grieved, but he worshiped. He suffered, but he maintained his integrity. And in the end, God said Job had spoken rightly concerning Him. Our circumstances may change, but God is still worthy. Keep showing up. Keep speaking faith. Keep worshiping. Keep blessing His name.
