Quick demo of how to save $100 on replacing the blower motor resistor / transistor control module on 1990's B-body cars, by buying the transistor for $10 instead of the whole $100 module. ---------------- This should work on the 1990's line of GM's B-body cars, here's a list below: Chevrolet Caprice & Impala Buick Roadmaster (I think) Oldmobile VistaCruiser wagons Cadillac Fleetwoods Possibly 1990's LeSabres / Park Avenues? (unconfirmed). Possibly Jeep Grand Cherokees? (unconfirmed) Any other cars that use this same Electronic / Automatic Climate Control system and blower control module. It is simply a very large power-transistor, or 'Darlington power-pack' (just like in some HiFi audio amplifiers), that the climate computer uses to control the speed of the high-current fan. OEM wants over $100 for one (someone told me as much as $500.....(!). Simply search eBay for STK6994JH, and you'll find some for sale for $10 each, FREE shipping. I bought a pair to have a backup, for $10 each why not. Check out the module in your car by cross-referencing with mine at my favorite parts site link below. Their index has EVERYTHING, just look up your model, and see if your control module looks the same as the one shown for my car. They may both look different than the one in my movie, just a different transistor, but see if the part numbers match up: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/b... The car is my 'new' 1994 Buick Roadmaster sedan. LT1 Corvette engine, not too bad shape, bit rusty under the floorboards but boy does the body shine! See my other videos for a review on replacing the A/C compressor and a few more views of the car. Hope this saves someone some dollars, thanks for watching!
