On a sunny October Saturday afternoon, I cycled the Comber Greenway from Comber to Belfast's Titanic Quarter (Route 99) and the famous Harland & Wolff cranes. The weather was perfect.
Starting point: Belfast Road, Comber, County Down (BT23 5EW)
Finishing point: Harland & Wolff, Sydenham Road, Belfast. (BT3 9DP)
There were plenty of walkers and cyclists on the path. Most of the path is very wide and able to cope with all traffic. The odd time, I had to use my bell to warn walkers that I was cycling up behind them.
The Comber Greenway took me past the Billy Neill Country Park, which makes a good starting point when using the Greenway. Car parking is free, there is usually a coffee cart, and there is a bike maintenance point if you need to make anything right.
CS Lewis Square is near the end of the Greenway and is a great spot to grab some lunch or a coffee.
This is a traffic-free greenway although you do need to cross multiple roads. There are pedestrian crossings and traffic controls, so that's not a problem.
I noticed there are solar lights along the Greenway. Has anyone used the Greenway after dark? Are these lights effective enough?
I hope you enjoy this video. All comments are very welcome!
