LISA STANSFIELD Can't Dance NEW SINGLE

With two of my all time favourites releasing new material in 2013 - Julia Fordham and Lisa Stansfield, I wanted to celebrate these two great vocalists by posting clips of their latest. Lisa Stansfield has one of the most powerful and distinctive voices in pop. Since 1989 when the Affection album entrenched her into the hearts and dance floors of a worldwide audience, her music has kept us fans excited and passionate about this sublime singer. With 9 years since her last album, 'The Moment', the anticipation of 'Seven'' (originally meant for an October release, now pushed back to early 2014), diehard fans have to be a little more patient. I guess if we can wait 9 years we can wait a few more months. No more! Lisa Stansfield for me is now impossible to categorize. Having all her albums, singles and rarities from concept albums and soundtracks, there is only one label I can attach to her - breathtaking singer. The music has straddled pop, dance, r&b, traditional pop, jazz. A great singer can sing any genre, and that is true of La Stansfield. I was hooked the very first time i heard 'This is the right time' in early 1990. and indeed it was the right time, and i am proud to say nearly 25 years on, Lisa's voice and music feature among my very favourite singers with so many of her songs, significant bookmarks in my life's journey - both ups and downs. Lisa has been along for the ride! 'Can't Dance' was not originally what i was expecting, but it is really growing on me, and it is such a welcome event to have Lisa's voice once again being piped into my ears and rooms, as it has been all these years. I am, along with her legion of world wide fans, even more excited about the imminent release of 'Seven'. Check out Lisa's vast discography of songs. You will be dazzled by her versatility.
