ALCos on the Meadville Turn: Episode 2

On July 24, 2025, we made another chase of the Western New York and Pennsylvania Railroad's Meadville Turn. This train runs almost every Thursday from interchange with Norfolk Southern in Meadville to Oil City, PA. The train connects to the Oil Creek and Titusville in Rouseville and sometimes works Franklin Industries in Franklin, PA. Until recently, the train was pulled by a pair of ALCo 4-axle Century series locomotives built in the 1960s. Classic power, jointed rail, and slow speeds (although not for all of this chase) make this a true staple of western Pennsylvania railfanning. This is the second of five chases of the ALCo power on this line, with the rest coming to the channel soon!
