There was a moment when I realized I had a choice to make. I could keep learning herbalism in spaces where I was expected to quietly set my faith aside… or I could draw a line in the sand. So I walked out. In this video, I’m sharing the story of an herbalism conference I had looked forward to for months. I went with my notebook ready, excited to learn from some of the most respected voices in modern herbalism. But as I sat there listening, something inside me became increasingly unsettled. The plants weren’t the problem. The herbal knowledge wasn’t the problem. It was everything that seemed to come attached to it. I realized I was being asked, little by little, to accept a worldview that simply wasn’t mine. And I remember thinking: Why should I have to leave Jesus at the door in order to learn about the plants He created? That day, I walked out. And looking back now, that was the moment when Daughters of Eve School of Herbalism truly began. I wanted to create the kind of herbal education I had been searching for: a place where women could learn the old skills of identifying plants, making remedies, understanding the body, and caring well for their families without separating that knowledge from the God who created it all. A place where we could study herbs deeply, thoughtfully, and responsibly while keeping Christ firmly at the center. That is what Daughters of Eve has become.
