Last week I attended a graduation party where almost everyone knew me before I transitioned. Walking into a room full of people who remember an older version of you is a uniquely strange experience, but it led to some of the most thoughtful, awkward, funny, and surprisingly hopeful conversations I've had in years. Today I'm talking about what it's actually like to return to your past after transition, becoming "the trans person" in the room, and why real conversations matter so much more than internet discourse.
