Dehesa Bonita is the commercial name of the dehesa boyal (Monte de Utilidad Pública Nº 231) of Somosierra, in the extreme north of the Community of Madrid, Spain. It is populated with a mixed deciduous forest that grows on the slopes of the western slope of the Peña Cebollera peak, in the Sierra Norte de Madrid. Today it houses one of the botanical relics that survive from ice ages. It is considered one of the best-preserved forests in the Community of Madrid, since its enormous variety: holly, oak, cherry, hazelnut, scots pine, serval and, above all, birch, make this an area with high biodiversity. Its best vision is in autumn, when its chromaticity and the contrasts between the different species become more evident. The main singularity of the forest is its large number of birch trees, a very abundant species in the Dehesa, typical of humid areas. In fact, it is the most important birch in the Community of Madrid. However, the most abundant tree is Pyrenean oak and there are also some conifers such as Scots pine and yew. Two birch trees with more than 200 years stand out, a holly with more than 300, and a great mostard, all of them declared unique trees of the region. The Litueros waterfall is a waterfall located in the municipality of Somosierra (Sierra Norte de Madrid), on the north face of the homonymous mountain pass, in the Community of Madrid (Spain). The water comes from springs at the top of the Cebollera rock and creates the Arroyo del Caño, which falls in a horse's tail down the three stone steps of La Chorrera. Moments after its descent, the stream joins that of Las Pedrizas, in what will become the source of the Duratón River, a tributary of the Duero River in Castilla y León. It is therefore one of the few watercourses in the Community of Madrid that does not discharge its waters into the Tagus River.1 It is one of the waterfalls with the highest flow and height in the Community of Madrid, at 40 meters, located between impressive granite rocks.
