With a materials share of 50 to 60 percent, procurement has a big impact at KERN LIEBERS, a family company founded in 1888 with around 6,000 employees and close to 700 million euros in revenue. Three years ago, the company decided to professionalize and globalize it. Over 40 locations had grown organically and through acquisitions and were organized decentrally. Today, AI helps handle the complexity that remains. Last year the team beat its savings target of 2.5 percent and reached over 3.1 percent.
