This is it, the culmination of everything Bumblebite has worked for. Bumblebite's brother Honeyhawk is brought back to camp, murdered by a LynxClan cat. A few moons later, her clan goes to war with LynxClan, and during a battle, Bumblebite finds herself face to face with the man who killed her brother: Logbellow. She attempts to kill him in the battle, but his mate intervenes and stops her. In the moons since Honeyhawk's death, Logbellow has come to terms with what he's done, repented, and started a family with Sugarsnap. He regrets his violent past, but has found peace. Bumblebite has not found peace. Obsessed with her need for revenge, she enlists the help of the Dark forest sprit Flowerheart, doing various tasks for her to gain strength (stealing herbs from another clan, stealing prey from her clan in leaf bare, attacking another clan's leader, hunting a rabbit & not bringing it back for her clan, stealing herbs from her clan). With Flowerheart's help, she develops a plan to enact her revenge. Flowerheart visits one of Logbellows kits, Cottontuft, in a dream, pretending to be a StarClan cat. In the dream, she tells Cottontuft to go to a specific location. Cottontuft falls for the trick, but at the last moment, her older brother Sweetskull tags along with her as she's leaving, unknowingly following her into the trap where Bumblebite lies in wait.
