The God Who Is Compassionate | GOD HAS A NAME

What is God like when we fail Him? In the second message of our series God Has a Name, Pastor Troy Lanning continues through Exodus 34 and focuses on the first word Yahweh uses to describe His character: compassionate. Israel had just turned away from God and worshiped a golden calf. Yet when Yahweh reveals His character, He begins with compassion. His mercy sets the tone for everything else He reveals about Himself. We see that same compassion in Jesus throughout Matthew 9. He moves toward the hurting, makes room for the outsider, stops for the interruption, and sees people others might overlook. If we have been transformed by God’s presence, we cannot waste what He has done in us. We are called to carry His compassion into the places He has sent us.
