Uther, Morgana, & Merlin | I THINK I'M GONNA DIE IN THIS HOUSE (au)

Hey guys. After a couple months hiatus from vidding, I finally found the motivation to work on a new project this weekend. Since listening to Charli xcx's Wuthering Heights album, in addition to "Always Everywhere," I really wanted to edit the first track of the album, "House," which is the track used for this video. When I first heard it, I thought it would be a great fit for yet another video related to my fanfic, but when I started editing yesterday, a different AU emerged in a similar vein to the Merlin AU I made to Ethel Cain's "housofpsychoticwomn" about Uther, Morgana, and Merlin. This AU is a slightly different take on the events of 3x05. The narrator in the first half of the track is Merlin relating his regrets (although some of the lines relate to Uther and Morgana, too) regarding an accident that has left Morgana comatose and on the brink of death. We see Gaius and Gwen attempting to take care of her and this flashes back to an earlier time when Morgana was deathly ill but recovered to find out that her guardian, the King Uther Pendragon, is indeed her father. There are also other flashbacks to when Merlin first arrived in Camelot and witnessed the execution of a fellow sorcerer, alongside Uther's ward and unbeknownst to her then, daughter. Working as Gaius's apprentice, Merlin comes to know the Lady Morgana, how she has stood up to Uther regarding his cruel stance against magic and how Uther has abused her for acting against him. This leads to them discussing what should be done about the King and his tyranny. It's only once Morgana recovers from her illness, and learns the truth that Uther is her father, however, that she decides to take matters into her own hands and on the night of her birthday, uses the dagger she was gifted to take her father's life. Merlin gets wind of her plans via a vision he receives and tries to stop her but is too late, and Morgana murders Uther. Merlin then tries to accost Morgana, but ends up sending her down a flight of stairs and from the fall she suffers a deadly head injury. The video ends with Merlin lamenting what he has done.
