This is a closer look at how the hydraulic system behind my pond actually works. From the floating weir and skimmer, through the filtration barrels and pumps, to the waterfall and river, I follow the journey of the water around the entire system. The pond uses a combination of mechanical and biological filtration, with multiple stages designed to keep the water moving, filtered and oxygenated before it returns to the pond. It’s a completely DIY system that has evolved through testing, modifications and plenty of trial and error — and in this video I show exactly how the different parts work together.
