There isn't too many mining towns that have the small town charm and simplicity as Kearny, AZ. Sure, you'll get to see passing shots of one of the biggest open pit mines in Arizona, if not the world, but Kearny is more than just a mining town. Kearny provides families with an amazing school complex, a fantastic pizza restaurant, a grocery store with delicious food and bakery items. I'll give you a taste of the #Rail and Copper Park but leave you hungry for Kearny Lake City Park. Next month, the first annual Gila River Music Festival debuts, May 21 & 22 from 10AM to 11PM! You'll enjoy awesome "Live" music with Reckless Envy, Buddy Duke, Tequila Moon, The Joeys and more! Food trucks, vendors, good ol' fashioned family fun! Personally, I think you and your family would love a day trip to Kearny. Bring a picnic lunch, a canoe or kayak, some cool tunes, and enjoy the tranquility of small town America!
