Day 117 of my Appalachian Trail thru-hike!
This is definitely a long one. There were so many awesome sights, climbs, and trail today. Mount Success was the first major climb of the day. It really wasn’t that bad and led us right into the New Hampshire/Maine border. It’s hard to believe that it’s the last border crossing of the trail.
We then climbed Mount Carlo and the Goose Eye peaks. It really wasn’t an amazing bunch of climbs. The scrambles were a lot of fun and the wind was unlike anything we’ve seen before, even on Mount Washington.
Lastly, Mahoosic Notch. What a fun section of trail and such a fun change of pace. Being taller definitely helps quite a bit in the notch but nothing was too difficult if you take your time.
All in all, great day but happy to be in camp to rest my feet and knees.
