When Suffering Comes

What do we do when suffering comes—and how do we hold onto hope when the pain is real? Continuing our series through 1 Peter, this message looks at Peter’s teaching on suffering through the lens of Jesus’ own suffering, death, and victory. Peter reminds us that suffering is not the end of the story, because Christ has gone before us, defeated the enemy, and now reigns at the right hand of God. Through the examples of Christ and Noah, we’re reminded to trust God when obedience is costly, remain faithful when circumstances are difficult, and remember that God cares more about our faithfulness than our success. There is no place our suffering can take us where Jesus has not gone before us.
