"BANKS IS DONE FOR MONTHS — Can a BROKEN Saints O-Line Survive Maxx Crosby in the Dome?! 😱"

Game Summary: How the Saints Can Beat the Raiders in the Home Opener The stakes: Saints (1-1) host the Raiders (2-0) Sunday, Sept. 27 at 3:25 PM CT at the Caesars Superdome — New Orleans' 60th season home opener, with Shaq (DJ Diesel) headlining halftime. There's extra juice here too: new Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak spent the 2024 season as the Saints' offensive coordinator before becoming Seattle's OC in 2025, and he's returning to the Caesars Superdome as head coach of the team he used to help build offense for. Path to victory: Contain Maxx Crosby early. For the Saints, the formula for winning starts with keeping Crosby from wrecking the game. He's overdue for a breakout game per PFF-type metrics, which makes this doubly dangerous with the O-line banged up. Slow down Ashton Jeanty and force Vegas into obvious passing downs. Defensively, New Orleans will focus on slowing Jeanty early and forcing the Raiders' young offense into longer passing situations, especially with Kirk Cousins likely under center. Lean on Tyler Shough's hot streak. Shough just threw for a career-high 410 yards in the win over Baltimore, joining Drew Brees and Aaron Brooks as the only Saints QBs to hit 400+ passing yards in a game. If the O-line issues below get schemed around, Shough-to-Olave (and eventually Jordyn Tyson once healthy) can win this game through the air. Win the trenches on early downs to keep Shough out of obvious passing spots that expose the tackle spots to Crosby and company. The Offensive Line Crisis: Why It's Serious This is the story of the week. Saints standout left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. will undergo surgery for a severe high ankle sprain after being carted off and ruled out during the Saints' Week 2 win over the Ravens. Banks landed awkwardly on his ankle late in the third quarter and stayed on the ground before eventually getting carted off. He's out indefinitely, with a chance to return late in the season if all goes well — realistically, this is an IR stint. Banks was part of a talented young offensive core for New Orleans that includes Shough, Chris Olave, and right tackle Taliese Fuaga, and the only other tackle on the roster behind Banks, Fuaga and Richards is undrafted free agent Mason Murphy. The plan: Moore indicated the Saints would keep Fuaga on the right side rather than sliding him to left tackle, but it's something to monitor throughout the week, meaning Asim Richards steps into the starting left tackle job against arguably the most dangerous pass rusher on the schedule. Why it's scary timing: the Saints might need to help both offensive tackles during Sunday's game with double-teams, or somehow scheme away from a vulnerability on one edge or the other, and with Banks out this week and beyond, the Raiders' defensive coordinator Rob Leonard is well-equipped to exploit that vulnerability. Bottom line: This is a straight-up test for Kellen Moore's scheme IQ. If the Saints can get creative with chip blocks, tight end help, and quick game to take pressure off Richards and Fuaga, Shough has the arm talent to carry this offense. If the O-line gets exposed on the edges, Crosby and the Raiders' front could turn this into a long, ugly afternoon in the Dome. #Saints #NewOrleansSaints #NFL #Raiders #WhoDat #NFLWeek3 #MaxxCrosby #TylerShough #SaintsNation #NFLNews #Superdome #NFLTwitter #KelvinBanks #AsimRichards #NFLPredictions #NFLHighlights  / tssportscorner     / thesaintssportscorner   Welcome to the #1 New Orleans Saints fan channel on YouTube! 🏈⚜️ Whether you're a lifelong member of the Who Dat Nation or just starting to follow the Black and Gold, this is your go-to spot for everything Saints!
