Death Of A Car Brand - 1961 DeSoto History, Revival After Sitting For Decades, And Much More

This is a 1961 DeSoto. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Generally speaking, I'm a big fan of four door Exner cars. I own two of them, of course. But this thing is a little... odd. Really, it's the goofy stacked grilles that make me question what was in Virgil's pipe the day this final DeSoto design was penned. It's certainly an interesting car though, and today we'll look it over from every angle, while investigating the history of DeSoto, a Chrysler brand that has been gone for 64 years now. And we'll definitely have to assess the condition of various systems on the car, then see if we can coax some life out of the big block under the hood. Let's dig in.
