L. V. Prasad Shankar, a thief steals money from Sahadev Sharma a school teacher which results in the death of his son. Shankar is sentenced to prison for a year. While in prison Shankar decides to seek penance for causing such a terrible loss to Mr. Sharma. However, on reaching the village after serving time in prison Shankar comes to know of the local strongman Jai Singh who rules the village with his terror.
