DITKO Ink is excited to reveal our first Motion Comic. Part of our mission is to preserve Steve Ditko’s legacy while introducing his incredible artwork to new generations. To do that, we want to explore new ways of experiencing his work. The DITKO Ink Motion Comic Series will bring Steve Ditko’s early, pre-Comics Code Authority work to a new audience, combining his original artwork with narration, editing, and motion to create a new way to experience these classic stories. Our first Motion Comic is “Die Laughing,” originally published in Charlton Comics’ The Thing #13. The Thing featured classic eerie anthology stories, and this rare issue is difficult to find today. “Die Laughing” follows a group of college students taking part in a fraternity initiation ritual. As a test of bravery, they are sent into a notorious haunted house. What begins as a prank quickly turns terrifying as the students discover that something genuinely sinister is lurking inside.
