Summary: Michelle Kwan’s 2003 World Championships free skate in Washington, D.C. became one of the signature performances of her career. Skating to Japanese violinst Ikuko Kawai's violin arrangement of Joaquín Rodrigo's “Concierto de Aranjuez,” the 22-year-old combined her characteristic technical security with an unusually relaxed and emotionally expansive performance. Commentators Dick Button, Peggy Fleming and Terry Gannon were struck by the calmness of her skating and the precision of her landings, particularly her triple Lutz–double toe, while noting that she did not attempt the triple-triple combinations of some rivals. As the program built toward its closing footwork, Kwan visibly began to enjoy the moment, drawing the audience to its feet before the music had finished. The response was extraordinary even by Kwan’s standards. Dick Button applauded from the commentary booth, Peggy Fleming called the performance perhaps the best she had seen from Kwan, and the commentators immediately placed it alongside her celebrated 1998 U.S. Nationals performances as one that would be remembered for decades. Her marks included two 6.0s, and the victory secured her fifth World title in her tenth consecutive appearance at the championships. Asked afterward what the performance had felt like, Kwan said she had simply “let it go” and skated from the heart—a fitting summary. uploading a highlight single clip, better source AV. see also:    • 2003 Worlds 🇺🇸 Women's FS (ABC) | Michelle...   --- #figureskating #フィギュアスケート #eiskunstlauf #фигурноекатание #피겨스케이팅 #pattinaggioartistico #patinageartistique
