What skills do we need to learn during adolescence in order to become connected, confident, and contributing adults? Learn from leading developmental psychologists as they discuss the formation of relational skills–the essential (and sometimes overlooked) skills that allow us to communicate, collaborate, and connect with others. During this webinar, we examine what relational skills are, why they are important for development and future success, and how we can support their formation during late adolescence, the ages of roughly 16 to 25. Experts explain how ongoing brain development during late adolescence creates an important time for learning the complexities of interpersonal relationships, and share science-based ways we can support young people as they develop these critical capacities. This webinar is based on the new UCLA Center for the Developing Adolescent Report—Connecting, Collaborating, and Contributing: Supporting the Development of Relational Skills During the Transition to Adulthood.
