​I Returned To The 051 Building After 5 Years... During A Solar Eclipse! Liverpool

After 5 years, I returned to explore Liverpool's iconic 051 Building. From navigating heavy fire damage in intense heatwave conditions to catching a solar eclipse from the roof, this return visit was one for the books. ​the 051 Building ​Located on the corner of Mount Pleasant and Brownlow Hill, the 051 complex opened in the early 1990s and quickly became a staple of Liverpool nightlife. Best known as Club 051 one of the North West's legendary dance and clubbing venues the sprawling building also housed a cinema, laser tag arena, gym, and indoor play center over the years. After shutting its doors in the mid-2000s, the building has sat derelict, suffering years of neglect and multiple severe arson fires. ​The Explore ​Returning half a decade after my first trip, the physical decline of the 051 was obvious immediately. Pushing through the lower levels meant navigating heavy fire damage, charring, and structural collapse made even harder by extreme heatwave temperatures inside.
