Score of Johann Sebastian Bach's chorales 24 to 47 from his 186 four-part lutheran harmonizations BWV 253 to 483. The first 252 BWV are chorales included in larger works like cantatas, oratorios, passions and motets; the rest (the ones in this series) were published posthumously in various editions. Bach's chorales are ingenious exercises on writing four-part harmony - that's why music schools still make students learn (from) them. Their apparent simplicity is nevertheless overshadowed by their expressive power and an ability to cut straigh to the point, capacities that were ideal for their evangelizing intentions. So much can be said with only four melodic lines. 00:00 - (Introduction) 00:23 - 24. BWV 276 "Christ ist erstanden" 02:38 - 25. BWV 277 "Christ lag in Todesbanden [1]" 03:42 - 26.
