Small Town Lights is a new small-town country song about snowmobile nights, maple smoke, summer festivals, and fall backroads in Western New York, and how the place you grew up stays in everything you become. Set in the hill country of Cattaraugus County, New York, around Franklinville, Lyndon, Farmersville, and Cuba, this video follows two eras of the same life. One is a kid in the late '90s: sleds strapped to the trailer, thermos coffee passed through gloves at the clubhouse, Maple Fest at the Franklinville Maple Festival, and summer nights at Boonefest on Hunter Hill Farm. The other is the man he became, standing on a snowy hilltop looking down at the family barn, finally understanding what it all meant. It's for anyone from a small town who didn't know it back then. LYRICS (Intro) Snow comin' down like it had a plan… (Verse 1) Truck glass fogged, breath in the cab Engine still cold, metal and gas Clubhouse lights flicker in the snow Nobody talks, everybody knows Stand it up, check the strap tight Same routine every single night Thermos coffee passed through gloves No speeches, just the way it was Snow comin' down like it had a plan Tracks cut deep through the frozen land I'm just watchin', lettin' it land Tryin' to hold what I don't understand (Pre-Chorus) Wait on the line Feel that grind Cold in your bones but you don't mind (Chorus) It all comes back when the night hits hard Small town lights and a frozen yard From snowpack roads to the Maple Fest flame Different seasons but it feels the same No big words, no lines to explain Just a life that stays in your veins Yeah I didn't know it back then But it's in everything I became (Verse 2) Hunter Hill heat, dust in the air Bass from the stage rattlin' chairs Cans in the ice, sun goin' red Kids in the field, nothin' ahead Guitars cut sharp through the open sky Smoke from the grill driftin' high Everybody lost in the same loud sound Like time don't matter when it comes around Lights come on when the day runs out Same crowd noise, same kind of loud And it all just fades into the dark Like summer leaves its mark (Pre-Chorus) Wait on the line Feel that grind Like time slows down and speeds up twice (Chorus) It all comes back when the night hits hard Small town lights and a frozen yard From snowpack roads to the Maple Fest flame Different seasons but it feels the same No big words, no lines to explain Just a life that stays in your veins Yeah I didn't know it back then But it's in everything I became (Verse 3) Cold creeps in through the edge of fields Apples stacked up, cider gets sealed Blueberry pie on a paper plate Steam risin' up as the nights get late Leaves turn slow down ridgeline trees Like the whole world breathes differently Hunters movin' where the silence grows Truck lights fade down backroads Everything quiet but it ain't dead Just heavier skies overhead Like the land itself is lettin' you know Nothing stays the same below (Bridge) They don't teach it You just live it It stays with you Even when you leave it And you don't notice 'til you miss it (Final Chorus) It all comes back when the night hits hard Small town lights and a frozen yard From snowpack roads to the Maple Fest flame Different seasons but it feels the same No big words, no lines to explain Just a life that stays in your veins Yeah I didn't know it back then But it's in everything I became It's in the nights, it's in the air It's in the places that weren't going anywhere (Outro) Snowmobile lights in the dark… Summer dust… maple sparks… Falling leaves… frozen ground… And it never really leaves you now… never really leaves you now… #SmallTownLights #CountryMusic #NewCountry #WesternNewYork #CattaraugusCounty #FranklinvilleNY
