The first Olympic Games after the ADA passed were in 1996 in Atlanta, Georgia. Linn Hendershot was on the Committee on Disability Access to assure the Olympic venues were accessible for everyone. He and other disability advocates worked tirelessly to get the changes implemented to make the venues ADA-compliant. There was a lot of push back from architects, lawyers and officials. It took over two years to make it happen. In this video Linn shares that story.
This video includes behind the scene footage, outtakes, and clips from the documentary, Extra Innings - The Linn Hendershot Story.
