In this message, Carter Conlon teaches from Matthew 14 and Peter’s decision to step out of the boat toward Jesus. Fear can make you question where God is, especially when life feels uncertain, painful, or beyond your control. But Jesus does not always call us to wait until everything becomes easier. Sometimes He calls us to trust Him while the wind is still blowing. Through a deeply personal story from his own health crisis, Carter shows how the Holy Spirit can shift our attention from survival to purpose, helping us see people, serve others, and discover strength we did not know we had. This message is an invitation to stop waiting for perfect conditions, hear the voice of Jesus, step forward in faith, and discover what God can do through your life in the middle of the storm. ⏱ TIMESTAMPS 00:00 Intro 02:09 What If God Doesn’t Stop the Storm? 03:21 Finding Purpose in the Middle of Pain 08:01 Peter Steps Out of the Boat 11:14 Where Is Jesus When Life Feels Overwhelming? 16:25 A Kingdom That Cannot Be Shaken 20:42 Stop Waiting for the Storm to End 26:58 What Happens When You Step Beyond Yourself 32:25 Walking Above What Should Have Overwhelmed You 39:11 An Invitation to Receive Jesus and Step Forward in Faith ABOUT THIS SERVICE The Midweek Service is a moment during the week when Times Square Church gathers to worship, pray, and receive the Word.
