For the first time in Mangaluru, an impressive 3D cutout of Kateelu Sri Durgaparameshwari Devi has been created by renowned Mangaluru sand artist and Tulu theatre artist Harish Acharya and his team as part of the Dasara festivities. The team, which regularly creates Sharadamba cutouts for Kudroli, Mangaladevi and Venkataramana temples during Dasara, has taken up this special project to create a distinctive 3D representation of Katilu Devi. The cutout is being installed near Malingeshwara Temple in Kavoor and features an embossed design, fresh jasmine flowers, decorative jewellery and special lighting arrangements. It is set to be fully unveiled for public viewing at night. Harish Acharya is credited with introducing 3D cutout art to Mangaluru around five years ago. His team includes fellow artists Bharat Poojari, Krishna Karve and Prasad Moolya. Their earlier creations, including a cutout of Lord Rama for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration and cutouts for the Barkे Friends Mannagudda Dasara festival, gained widespread attention online. Apart from sand art and 3D cutouts, Harish Acharya has also worked as an art director in the popular Tulu stage drama Shivadhoothe Gulige and several films. For him and his team, art is a form of devotion offered to the divine. Watch the story behind the making of the special Katilu Devi 3D cutout and the artists who bring creativity and devotion together during Mangaluru Dasara. #mangalurudasara #KatiluDurgaparameshwari #KatiluAmmanavaru #3DCutout #HarishAcharya #MangaluruArtists #Kavoor #MalingeshwaraTemple #dasara2026 #karnatakaculture #TuluTheatre #sandart #artdirector #ShivadhootheGulige #mangalurunews #ಕರ್ನಾಟಕಸುದ್ದಿ #ಮಂಗಳೂರುದಸರಾ #ಕಟೀಲುದುರ್ಗಾಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಿ #ಹರೀಶ್ಆಚಾರ್ಯ #3ಡಿಕಟೌಟ್ "Get Your Daily Dose of News, Entertainment, and Infotainment - All in One Place!"
