Bafana Sindane at madlanga | Joe Ferrari Sibanyoni Madlanga Commission today
Bafana Sindane and Joe Ferrari are at the centre of new evidence presented at the Madlanga Commission, involving alleged extortion, R2.29 million in payments, WhatsApp messages, police links and the Moloto Road project.
In this video, we break down the latest Bafana Sindane and Joe Ferrari developments from the Madlanga Commission, including the WhatsApp messages presented in Sindane's absence and Joe Ferrari's testimony on 29 and 30 September 2026.
Bafana Sindane was expected to testify before the Madlanga Commission, but instead, evidence from his cellphone was presented while he was absent. The evidence included WhatsApp conversations involving alleged payments, businessman Thomas Ntuli, police contacts and legal fees connected to convicted taxi-related murderers.
The Commission heard allegations concerning R100,000 monthly payments linked to the Moloto Road project. Joe Ferrari was subsequently questioned about the payments and acknowledged receiving approximately R2.29 million, while disputing the characterization of the payments as extortion and giving his explanation of the business arrangement.
The Commission also examined WhatsApp messages involving SAPS contacts, alleged police escorts, the “new sheriff” message, Joe Ferrari's relationship with Bafana Sindane and his wider involvement in the South African taxi industry.
The allegations discussed in this video have not been proven in court. This video is based on evidence presented at the Madlanga Commission, court proceedings and reporting from South African news organisations. All accused persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
